Fluid dynamics of spit particulate

Harvard University, ES123-Fluid Dynamics, Spring 2017

The saliva spit distance record is at about 22 feet. Unfortunately, for many people, spitting can be a daunting task. Often, when people spit, their saliva ends up dripping down their chin and shirt, while for others, they are able to spit for far distances. In this project, high speed video of people spitting was obtained to develop a model, using kinematics and the Reynold's number, that can be used to predict spitting capabilities.
